Heart doll

I made a heart shaped doll with the Hillary Lang pattern. It was really fun and challenging. I like making toys so much! I wish it was my full time job, but alas, I must have an office job like everybody else. ;)

Winter Journal Take II

I finished another journal. The fabric is so neat, I wish the camera could show that better. I really liked the Buck on the fabric of the end pages, it really conveys a winter vibe.

X-ray pillow

I made some new pillows for my maroon sofa. The orange one is made of fake fur and the black one is made of a really slick "x-ray" fabric my sister got for me. Just adding to my eclectic collection. :)

Nature Embroidery

I finally finished this piece I've been working on for a while now. I like doing free-hand embroidery without a pattern, although it sometimes doesn't work the way you want it to. It looked a lot better in my head! It was still fun to make even though it didn't turn out like I imagined. :)

Tiny Upholstery House Village

I made some tiny houses! :) Aren't they cute?! Sewing adds whimsy to my life like nothing else. I love having something to do with my hands while I listen to music or language learning podcasts. I used upholstery fabric and sewed up the outside to show the stitches. Super fun!!

Mini notebooks with Leather cover

I used leather for the cover and book board for the back of these mini notebooks.
This one is called spring, because the picture reminded me of that green time of year. :)

Upholstery toys

I made some bunnies from upholstery. I was able to find some good deals in the red dot corner at Jo-Anne's. I bought six kinds of upholstery so the plan is to make a bunch of different combo patterned toys to have for sale at a craft fair this Christmas. It's a lofty goal, but I think I can do it. :)

Arabian Nights inspired embroidery

I just finished this free hand embroidery fish today. It was a 12 hour labor of love. I worked on it mostly on our drive to Moab, Utah for a family reunion. The colors, the design, the idea, were all inspired by The Arabian Nights, one of my favorite books.

Sail Boat Journal

I finally finished the boat journal I was making for my sister. I had to wait over a month for the fabric special order from Etsy which had to be special ordered from SpoonFlower (whew!) But it was totally worth the wait. I absolutely love the shade of blue! I want to paint my house that color! I used white waxed thread and just did a simple coptic stitch. I think it turned out really pretty. Yay!

It's that time again...

I made some more pillowcases! :P
I love it when flannel goes on sale. I spent a total of $12 for four yards of fabric, and then that became four new pillow cases. It takes me between 1/2 hour to 45 min. to make each one. So worth it!

Where the Wild Things Aren't Journal

This fabric reminds me of the children's book Where the Wild Things Are...if I was more talented I would make a patch with the beast on it.
It's been a while since I sewed together a book. I still like it, if you were wondering.
Here is the inside.
This is not a good picture, but I made another lavender sachet.
I used some of my favorite fabric of all time for the back. :)

"Marian," a Hillary Lang creation

I made the sister to Melvin. It's Marian! Isn't she awesome?!
The dress was almost the hardest part. :)
Even though the body has the same pattern, she turned out bigger than him. Maybe it was the holiday weight gain. ;P
