Holly bear

I made this bear yesterday for Sylvia. Her dress has "Holly" written on it. The scarf still needs a button sewed on to keep it in place.

More patches

The shroom and the rappin' ghost on TV. Awesome.

Elephant and Panda

The Panda I made for Josie. She wants me to make her a scripture bag and then attach it. I'm still searching for the perfect material for felt to be attached to. Any ideas?

More from the felt lab

Bunny in space, another patch. Also, an alien tree I designed out of felt. A couple of my faves.

Three trees

A lovely patch to put on a purse or bag.

Happy Halloween!

I made these guys for my kids to play with. Mia loves the bat especially.

Felt apples

I made some felt 3-D green apples and put them in a frame. It's more of a shadow box actually. Right now they are just sort of balancing on each other. Someday I will glue them in place, maybe. Cute!

My flower pillow

A little fuzzy, but you can see the detail somewhat. It took a long time to make this one.

Turtle

My newest guy. I messed up on the shell, but Mia still loves her. It was fun to make a "mascot" of my own design. I think I will change the way the head is attached somehow. Anyway, more to come...

All together now!

So fun, so crazy, so cute!

Day 18

So here is "Bad Guy." For those of you following along, he is the final in my goal to make a mascot a day for 18 days! I did it! Bad guy was by far easier than the first ones I made, which goes to show that practice makes progress. Thanks for looking. :) I will keep posting future craft projects to this blog, so if you want to see more, keep checking.

Day 17

The liar. She is untrustable and sneaky. She makes up stories and most of her words are whispered. This mascot was such a funny concept! So small and cute, yet mischievous and evil?!

Day 16

Baby sheep is so adorable. Her fluffy wool keeps her nice and warm on winter nights. This mascot was so fun to make because of her cuteness. I kept smiling at her the whole time. She is so cute!! I love her!

Day 15

Okay, it's a sorry attempt, but here is Alien on his home planet getting cheesy next to his flying saucer. He has long creepy arms and scary eyes, but he's actually quite the clever trickster if you get to know him. His teenage friends consider him the class clown in fact. One of the easiest mascots to make. I had fun imagining his family members and lifestyle. What a species!

Day 14

My latest creation is Miss froggie. Presented here with her best friend Kermit! She is waving and smiling crookedly in this awesome debut. Her sisters Tad and Pole couldn't make it this evening so she asked Kermit to help the people "feel the pond." Yeah! This mascot was started late in the day and it took a while to finish, so the lighting was low when I sewed the mouth on, hence the crookedness. oh well...

Day 13

Introducing Pinkie the baby hippo! She was just born and can't talk yet. She likes to sleep in the shade and swim in warm water. Pinkie loves the color pink and is the sweetest baby around. She was so easy to make! I think my skills are finally getting better after all this sewing, which was my goal in making these mascots in the first place. Yeah!

Day 12

The great Panda! He was such a nice project for me today, very simple and straight forward. It was quite a relief and a pleasure to make him. He is very wise and a peacemaker. He rarely lets anything get to him and really loves to relax.

Day 11

Today I chose to make the fish. She was very complicated to sew, lots of small pieces and detail stitching. It took quite a while, I lost track of how long. She turned out better than I expected though. She is a racing fish. Despite her beauty, she prides herself on her speed. She is always at the front of her school, leading all the others this way and that. Fun fun!

Day 10

This totally unserious and spaced-out bear loves geography and is busy memorizing the State Capitals. She visits Map world often, and has traveled to many fun places. Proof that I sewed this myself: her head is on crooked. I was watching TV as I sewed and got distracted (oops!). She is a sweet girl who never takes herself too seriously. So cute!

Day 9

We caught this Sprite hanging out on the fence in our front yard. He is a very wise and introspective fellow, also very sneaky. He can fly and is also known to cast spells. We tried to catch him in a bottle but he flew away! But really, he was a lot of fun to make and even though I had the wrong color of thread I still think he turned out awfully cute!

Day 8

Birdie sitting on a branch! She is a real girlie girl. She is shy and super nice. So cute!! The flowers were attached using french knots and the legs were too thin to stuff with cotton. It took me three hours to make her. Lots of detail stitching. I can see the advantages of using a sewing machine now. I had fun making her though. :)

Day 7

Lizard loves the shade. He hides under the rocks most days, but we caught him leaving his hideout. Actually, my dorky camera wouldn't let me get a close up with the flash on for some reason so the picture looks dark. You can barely see his tail in the shadows. It took me forever to finish this one. I had a complicated day though, so I kept starting and stopping. He is still the cutest lizard I've ever seen!
