Plaid journal
This might be the weirdest choice of colors ever combined to make a journal. I'm not sure it works. I really like the material though, so I think I will make another one with only black linen waxed thread. Anyway, I think this would work as a guy's journal or a non-girly girl's journal. It was still just as fun to make as any other book, even though it's not as cool as I thought it would be. :)

Weaving on a Rigid Heddle Loom
I have to admit that this is the most difficult endeavor I have ever gotten myself involved in. I am seriously so impressed with anyone that can master this skill! I am just so grateful that I don't have to weave my own cloth for survival.
I know I am making a ton of mistakes, but since it is my first effort, I think I can forgive myself and just try to learn from the experience. It is pretty fun once you get the hang of it. To all you knitters out there with huge stashes of extra yarn--here is a way to use it! I wanted to make an 12X20 wall hanging, but this failed! I will try again when I have some more time. :)

Bookish Panda
Custom order for a Panda mini notebook(not quite finished). Being a full-time student is taking its toll on my crafting time. I am happy to report that I have started a weaving project on a Rigid Heddle loom I borrowed from a friend. I am so excited about it! I will post the results soon. Tchau!

Poinsettia overload
I've been super busy making mini notebooks. They are for a PR company out of England that will be sending them out all over Europe to get stores to sell Poinsettias this Christmas. I hope I can finish now that school has started up again. This semester is gonna kill me!
I did it! I finished. Whew!!

YETI
I scored a bag of fake fur last weekend at a thrift store on our trip to McCall. So, naturally I had to make a toy Yeti. Doesn't it look like it belongs on Adventure Time?
Cute!

"Put a bird on it"
This is the embroidery I did on the drive to and from Portland last month. I finally got it attached to a journal. My husband thought it was funny that we were heading to Portland and I was sewing a bird, since we are both fans of Portlandia. This was completely unintentional, but still. I did the embroidery free hand. I think it turned out okay, it was fun to make anyway. :)

Black & white handmade journal
I made this journal from the softest cotton T-shirt material. It is super fun to hold/hug. I am taking a summer math class that is really fast paced, so I may not get much more crafting done for a while.
I did get to take a trip to the Oregon Coast last weekend. We also caught a show in Portland with Camera Obscura, they were really cool. And, we got to eat at our favorite restaurant there; Por Que No? Happy 4th of July my peeps!

Bookish Deer and Coptic headband fun
I made this mini notebook with a deer in mind but none of my kids could guess what animal it was, so...oh well, we're sticking with deer. Also, it's been a while since I stitched a coptic headband so I tried it again. It was so fun I loved it! I really want to make another bowl with this stitch. Anyway, my hubby is headed to NYC Popfest with his band this week, so we'll see what new craft I can occupy my time with while he is gone. Any suggestions? Thought so. :)

Le Pouf
I made a giant pillow! It took forever since I am a novice with a sewing machine, but I really like how it turned out. Plus, it was really relaxing to make, since I was making it for fun, and basically just hanging with my kids while I stitched. I did miss out on tons of reading time though, and can't wait to get back to my novel. Caio!

Linen Jounal with Embroidered Peacock
Seriously, I had so much fun making this journal. I designed the peacock in felt and then just embroidered it like crazy right onto the linen in an embroidery hoop. The "Rice" stitch on the binding is new to me...I love how it turned out. I think the end pages fabric is just wonderful! It reminds me of birds somehow. I am reaching a milestone birthday tomorrow and I couldn't be happier with the way my life has turned out. I feel so much joy creating something beautiful here and there. Even if no one else sees it. :D

April is the kindest month
I happen to love April, as it is the month I became a mom (my first baby born the 15th,) and my own Birthday a little later. I also love the song my husband wrote about April with the same title as this post. So I made a linen journal with pink blossoms this week to commemorate Spring. I also painted a noodle bowl at Ceramica with pink blossoms circling around. We are busy getting an herb/flower garden planted in the back yard and lots of spring cleaning. Have a great month! Here is the song:

Linen journal with felt embroidery
Hello again! It's the first day of spring, yay! I just realized how winterish this journal looks...I am resolved to design a more spring looking journal next. I think it turned out cool though, and it's really fun to hold. My favorite sweater in the whole world is this same orange color, so whenever I see this journal it makes me feel all cozy inside. <3

Handmade Journal w/embroidery
I made another linen journal with embroidery. I really loved the design, but it didn't come together the way I thought it would. I wonder if it will bug people too much with the thread making bumpy lines behind the design? If you think it still looks good, please leave a comment. If you think it looks weird, let me know that too. Thanks!!
