Felt Food
Made totally out of felt, but still appetizing, eh? My daughter Josie made these and I had to share them online. She did such a great job!!

Tangerine Dreams Journal
Another project I just finished up yesterday. I brought the ribbon through the binding and then under the end pages to tie the book closed in the front. I think it turned out kinda cool!

Felt softies
My 7 year old daughter drew this design and asked me to sew it. It's pretty much her favorite character to draw. She is so creative! She even helped me cut out the felt.
I also made a narwhal and a seal for my other two girls. This is what happens when you are in between semesters and are avoiding everything else you've been putting off until the break. :P
All together now...

Swan Journal
I made a swan patch and attached it to a new journal. I am really disappointed in the quality of this card stock...it just looks weathered with the slightest handling--All I did was fold it and it tore up on the crease. So, other than that I just love the look of this fabric. It reminds me of Jane Austen era dresses and olden times when people weren't so busy and went on picnics all the time.

Hummingbird Journal
Over spring break I sewed this felt hummingbird to some linen in an embroidery hoop. This week I made it into a journal. It's still fun bookbinding after five years! I hope someday to be considered experienced enough to teach a class or something.

Wall hanging
I used the headband stitch to make a wall hanging for my little computer corner. I had so much fun! I put another Hiroshige cut out picture from my old calendar in the "frame." I think it turned out cool. His art is so serene and peaceful, it has a calming effect on me.

Toy deer
I think deer are my new favorite animal. I've been looking for a cute deer pattern for a while and I found this free download online...somewhere, sorry, I will add a link later. I think my version isn't as cute as the pattern made it seem, but I think it's cute enough. We had fun posing it in funny ways. :)

Rainbow Giraffe Journal
I made another journal with the "rice" stitch on the binding. My only complaint is that when you use card stock and have to sew through the same hole multiple times it makes the binding look sloppy. I wish it was more uniform. I'm not sure if that will ever get better though...after five years of bookbinding I still can't get it to look right(the holes look stretched out). Anyway, I really liked this fabric with giraffes. It would make a really cool baby book, or a book for a giraffe lover.

Bookish Squirrel
I made another mini notebook. I also thought I would post pictures of my kids for family to see. They are really hard to photograph and constantly making faces or moving, but I liked these photos from today and wanted to share. Josie is 11. and Mia and Sylvia are 9 and 7. I love my girls so much! I am so lucky to be their mom.

Leafy shadows
I just got this done last night. I am really excited that I met my goal of finishing two journals within my break! School starts again on Tuesday so I made it with a few days to spare. I really like this fabric, it reminds me of wind blowing through the leaves. I miss the leaves on the trees and can't wait for spring. Soon enough, I suppose it will be here again. Time seems to march on without waiting for me to catch up.

Umbrella Journal
I finished the other panda mini notebook and this journal with a neat umbrella print. Just thought I would share. :)
We just got back from seeing Anchorman 2. It is crazy! We were laughing through the whole thing. Luckily we had a gift card so we didn't have to pay for it. School starts in 10 days, I hope I can handle it.

Plaid journal
This might be the weirdest choice of colors ever combined to make a journal. I'm not sure it works. I really like the material though, so I think I will make another one with only black linen waxed thread. Anyway, I think this would work as a guy's journal or a non-girly girl's journal. It was still just as fun to make as any other book, even though it's not as cool as I thought it would be. :)

Weaving on a Rigid Heddle Loom
I have to admit that this is the most difficult endeavor I have ever gotten myself involved in. I am seriously so impressed with anyone that can master this skill! I am just so grateful that I don't have to weave my own cloth for survival.
I know I am making a ton of mistakes, but since it is my first effort, I think I can forgive myself and just try to learn from the experience. It is pretty fun once you get the hang of it. To all you knitters out there with huge stashes of extra yarn--here is a way to use it! I wanted to make an 12X20 wall hanging, but this failed! I will try again when I have some more time. :)

Bookish Panda
Custom order for a Panda mini notebook(not quite finished). Being a full-time student is taking its toll on my crafting time. I am happy to report that I have started a weaving project on a Rigid Heddle loom I borrowed from a friend. I am so excited about it! I will post the results soon. Tchau!

Poinsettia overload
I've been super busy making mini notebooks. They are for a PR company out of England that will be sending them out all over Europe to get stores to sell Poinsettias this Christmas. I hope I can finish now that school has started up again. This semester is gonna kill me!
I did it! I finished. Whew!!

YETI
I scored a bag of fake fur last weekend at a thrift store on our trip to McCall. So, naturally I had to make a toy Yeti. Doesn't it look like it belongs on Adventure Time?
Cute!
