Jirachi

My kids are on a Pokemon kick and Mia begged me to make her a Jirachi mascot. I free hand cut the felt so it's a bit wonky but still...she loves it, that's all that matters. :)

Mini drawing pad

I made a mini book out of a salvaged vintage book cover. Features an opera singer on the front and a piano man on the back. Hand bound with linen waxed thread. Metal corners help hide the wear and tear of a used cover. Seven signatures of blank heavy-duty drawing paper are sewn inside. Classic! I hope Gia likes it!

Blue bird Journal

Hand bound with linen waxed thread. Six signatures of blank drawing paper, about 50 pages. A felt blue bird has been sewn to the front cover which is a neat brown and blue leaf cotton/poly fabric. End pages are black fabric. I'm getting more confident about this hobby...it's totally fun and I like making them.

Journal

I sewed my first book! I used two recycled hardcovers (covered in felt) and used the Coptic binding method and three signatures of hand-cut acid free drawing paper. It is designed to lay flat. It is sooo rudimentary and really just a rough draft...but it was really fun and I can't wait to try again. :)

star flowers

I stiffened some felt then sewed a little vase w/star flowers on a patch and attached it. The back has some flowery material. The hemp string has been dyed black. It has a barrel clasp and hangs a little longer than a choker.

Mini mushroom

Am I insane? I made a mini mushroom to add to my moss terrarium. I sewed it with felt around a push pin to have something to secure it into the dirt. My kids love it!

Another mini notebook. I added a star brad to the back for decoration. I can't decide if it looks cheesy or not.

Still waiting on the metal corners. This one is headed for my Etsy shop.

My first notebook.

I handmade a mini notebook. The paper size are 3x5 cards cut in half.

On the back I sewed a little flower. The felt has been hardened with Mod Podge and then covered with some pink flowery fabric. I put one of my patches on the front, then punched an eyelet through and used a book binder ring to hold it all together. I am trying to find some metal book corners in Boise for the corners without the eyelet, but I may have to get those online. :)
